As a building product manufacturer, Legrand North and Central America strives to maintain awareness of industry trends and works to support our customers’ needs.

Legrand’s ability to contribute to well-being within the built environment is two-fold.

·        First, we are evaluating the human health hazards and environmental impacts of the materials we use through the development of Product Environmental Profiles (PEPs) and Health Product Declarations (HPDs), and are working to continuously improve by considering design improvements that reduce the environmental footprint of our products and phase out the use of certain chemicals, starting with the 10 RoHS substances.

·        Second, our products make up the backbone of the building, providing the power, light and data infrastructure to achieve better building performance. Many of our solutions support occupant well-being by providing adequate lighting levels, contributing to ergonomic design, facilitating ADA compliance for wiring and achieving physical comfort in mission critical environments. 

In 2022, Legrand was included in the Global 100 list of most sustainable corporations. We’re also a member of a series of indices for sustainable organizations worldwide such as the Dow Jones, FTSE For Good, and Robeco SAM. We have been recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy for our outstanding achievement in reducing our energy intensity. We have a number of ways that we try to live our wellness values, both by encouraging our employees to live better lives, and by investing in our products.

Several times a year, Legrand supports fitness challenges to encourage employees to adopt new health and wellness habits, and to encourage friendly competition.
